Born September 15, 1937 in London, England. Duncan passed away in Victoria, B.C. on September 9, 2016, just short of his 79th birthday.
Duncan’s life and adventures took him from England and Scotland to a new life in Canada with stops in Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Edmonton and Victoria.
The majority of his working life was spent with Canada Post first as an Industrial Engineer and eventually as Director of Operations in Western Canada. Upon retirement he entered into a new business with his dear friend Jim Jobb until he finally felt like winding down.
Duncan was predeceased his wife, Helen of 51 years in 2011. He found a new life with his partner Carolyn Morley. He frequently said he was lucky in love.
Duncan made many friends and put friendship and community above all other things. He was generous and kind, and the Brooks home was always open to guests, expected or otherwise. If dinner was on, it was assumed you would stay for the evening.
He will be dearly missed by: his partner Carolyn; daughter Sally (Mike); son Alastair (Cindy); grandchildren Trevor, Geoffrey, Sophie and William; his sister Valerie (William); dear friends Jim and Penny Jobb. Dad had too many friends to include here but we appreciate the support offered by all of you. We are also grateful to Dr. Ambrose Marsh and all the staff at the SanPen Palliative Care Unit.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 2 PM at the First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria, B.C. (www.dignitymemorial.ca)
We request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Saanich Penninsula Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Arrangements under the direction of First Memorial Funeral Services, Victoria, BC.
