He was born in Telkwa, B.C., the oldest of three boys. Most of his working life spent in hotels in Vancouver, the Alaska Highway and in Port Hardy.
After retiring in Victoria he spent many years travelling in their motorhome both in Canada and the U.S. making friends along the way.
He always kept busy curling, lawn/carpet bowling and being a "Jack" of all trades.
He volunteered for many organizations including the Lions Club, Heart and Stroke Foundation , Kidney Foundation the Celiac Chapter of Victoria, and the Good Sam RV Chapter.
Survived by his wife Pat, of nealy 68 years, brother Jim, children Brent, Daryl, Terry (Diana), and Lori (Doug), his 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother, Ken, in 2017.
