Dear Ian,

Your parents were very special people in our lives. We spent 6 months in Saskatoon from January 1985 through June 1985 when I was studying as an orthopaedic fellow with your father. When we first drove into Saskatoon, they had prepared a warm meal for us and gathered some warm snow suits for our children to use during the winter months. Our experience in Saskatoon was wonderful and we have lasting memories of the kindness and generosity of your parents. After we returned home, we kept in contact with your parents and were able to see them on several occasions at medical meetings. Your father was a wonderful mentor and his teachings have influenced me in many ways. Our family will cherish the wonderful memories of your parents.

I am sorry I didn't make it to Betty's funeral to help you honour her wonderful life. We got to know each other very well over the years. She certainly had a full life and so lucky to have you in it!  Safe travels to  all of the family and Best Wishes, Rose.
