This happy photo was taken at my Dad's (Evie's Uncle Doug Corbett's) 90th birthday celebration in Victoria. Dad turned 90, Uncle Bill Corbett turned 92, I turned 57, our daughter Erica turned 30. It was a great party! My Mom has the cream coloured sweater on and is the auntie to everyone else in the photo. 

I was fortunate enough to meet this sweet lady when she was at VGH a few months ago. She’s a patient I cared for that I will always remember. She loved my floral scrub tops and I would wear them specially for her. Very sweet and funny. Rest In Peace, Evelyn. My condolences and love to her family and loved ones. She was a special one 💕

What a lovely photo of a lady who would do almost anything for anyone from the time I knew her and that is a few years ago-like 77!
If Evie could be with you she was, always remembering a birthday and anniversary; writing to us whenever we were on the road with the Salvation .Army. sending  messages.
She was a soul who asked about all your family and if I remember correctly had a great memory.
With a life story like hers- with family, illness, helping others, work, she was more than willing to do it all.  She also loved her Lord Jesus Christ!
Will miss you Cousin Evie but now you have joined the ranks of 
other Hughes and Corbett's and other families in Heaven.

Cousin Evie and sister Vickie and daughter Bev has so many times brightened our days in our chance meetings at shopping centers....Shoppers Drug at Tillicum and Thrifty Foods at  Admiral's Walk over the last few years.  Also in the earlier years visiting with her parents Vic and Norah and sisters and brothers Evie never failed to warmly greet me . I do have many fond memories of a very special cousin.   In sadness Cousin Bob and Linda Clarke.

Dear Vickie, Fran, Bev, Cheryl and families,
I am so sorry to hear of Evie's passing.  I had the pleasure of meeting her many years ago and I remember a kind, funny, happy, dear, sweet lady who enjoyed life, as well as family get-togethers and functions.

Whether I saw her at a family function, Walmart or a mall, she'd always have time to stop and chat and had an interesting story to tell me.  What a fun-loving character she was.  She will be missed.
My thoughts are with all of you.

I was fortunate to be the photographer on this special day. Auntie Evie had been in hospital and shut in for weeks and this was her first day out. After her appointment she did not want to go home, she wanted to go to Tim’s. It was a beautiful day, so we sat in the car while she enjoyed her favourite honey dip donut and tea in the sunshine. She turned to me and said, “I am so happy,” and I was able capture the moment to cherish the memory forever. Auntie Evie was more than an aunt to us, she was like a feisty little BIG sister. God and her family and friends were her priority and passion.

Remembering Evie: joyful laughter, lifelong friend, Spokane, family first, lunches, phone calls, woman of faith. We have been blessed to call her friend. Looking forward to seeing her in heaven.
