Born in Victoria in January, 1953, he reveled in the joys of exploration and the thrill of the open road. From childhood drives with his father to shoestring budget road trips with his family throughout BC, Washington, Oregon and California, Fred embraced the adventure of life. Later, cruises and international travels including a circumnavigation of the Mediterranean and the UK, added a global flair to his travels. Beyond the maps and highways, Fred was a collector of memories and stories, weaving a tapestry of joy and discovery.
He is survived by his wife, Clare, and their 3 children, Stacy (Josh), Matthew, Melissa, and 2 grandchildren, Oliver and June.
In celebration of his journey, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16 at 10:00am at First Memorial Funeral Services. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
May Fred’s love for the open road inspire us to savor the beauty of every journey.
