George celebrated his 93rd birthday with friends and relatives. Born to Robert and Florence Roberson, he was predeceased by Alice his wife of 62 years, and siblings Florence and Bud. He leaves behind his children Bob (wife Christine) of Sydney, Australia and Dianne of White Stone, Virginia. He loved his grandchildren Sarah (Tom), Davy (Ivana), Jess (Nick), and Louise and his great grand-children, Truman and June. George, in the Air Force during WWII, spent his career at the Dockyard in Victoria. After retirement, he and Alice travelled the world - to China, an African Safari, many cruises and trips to visit family in Australia and Virginia. He was a founding member of the boat club at Work Point Barracks where he kept their boat, "Sarah B". He was an ardent fisherman and had many adventures with Alice and the grand children in their motor home, "the cookie camper". George lived in the house he and Alice built in 1953 until early this year when Sunrise Assisted Living welcomed him. The family thanks his long time neighbours Alf and Laverne Kitchen for their friendship and loving care over the past 4 decades.
A memorial service will be held late in February to celebrate a life well lived. No flowers please - rather, a donation to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
