I have known Jerry for 25 years . The last 7 years I was happy to help her through some of the challenges of life and the ageing process.
Jerry was a feisty lady who enjoyed life and felt the frustration of not being able to do all the things she so much still wanted to do in life
We had many talks about how she wished she could travel again back to England, or the Yukon, climb a mountain, ski and just about anything that was full of adventure.
She may not have got to do some of those things in the last couple of years but we managed to get to the odd movie together or down to Willows beach to sit and watch the children play, to go to jazz and blues shows outdoors plus lunch , dinners and bookstore shopping.
Jerry was an avid reader and was always interested in politics, history, geology and a good mystery. She loved her books,
She loved cutting out articles from the paper on things that she wanted to remember or places she wanted to go.
She studied Spanish for a time, did some knitting, tried her hand at sketching , played pool , liked swimming , and took bus trips with other seniors when she was able. Anything to get out and see something different.
Playing piano was one of her favorite pastimes and had a keyboard in her apartment along with lots of jazz and classical albums
She managed to do her genealogy before computers and found family in England. Then planned her trip and met so many relatives
That gave her true joy
Jerry was an animal lover and had many pets over her lifetime. That she truly missed in her later years .
You said to me a couple of weeks before you passed" You will miss me when I am gone"
Yes Jerry my dear dear friend i do miss you and always will .
