Gladys was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. As a child, she enjoyed swimming and often assisted her father in his work as a swimming instructor. She also took joy in collecting dolls and small keepsakes.
Since 1979, Gladys and her husband, Allan, made their home in Victoria, BC.
She is predeceased by her parents and two sisters.
Gladys is survived by her loving husband, Allan Whittal; her son Murray and his wife Corinna; and her grandsons Brendan, Kadyn, and Ethyn.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
