

Passed away on June 7th, 2016. Born in Ponoka, Alberta, February 28th, l937. She spent most of her life working with her husband Dick, which involved Police matroning in North Vancouver, B.C, Golf Pro Assistant in Grande Prairie and Calgary, Alberta and then to Glen Meadows in Sidney, B.C. Then went on to be a North Saanich Cowgirl on their hobby farm. Saturna Island beconed them then to buy and operate the Saturna Point Store, the Lighthouse Pub and Gas Docks for the next 26 years, then they retired and moved to Sidney. In her spare time, she had 4 children: Terry (Ken Taylor), Susan (Garth Taylor), Judy (Scott Perkins) and Tony Silverberg (Joan); She is survived by her husband Dick Silverberg and her brother Chuck (Dianne) of Red Deer, Alberta; Grandchildren: Rick Taylor (Angie), Trisha (Steve Phil), Heather Young, Emily Taylor, Ethan Taylor (Christina), Matt Brownell (Megan); Great Grandchildren: Colten Taylor and Leah Brownell. It is with great sadness that we had to say goodbye but the last battle with cancer could not be won. Heartfelt thanks to the palliative staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital for their love and caring. A Memorial service will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria on Friday, June 10th, 2016 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please support the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation in Gloria's name.
