A lifetime resident of Victoria, Harbhajan "Pudge" Singh passed away peacefully. He leaves behind his fiercely loyal and loving wife Americk Bhandar. Together they raised 6 children, Buncy (Balla, late), Donnie, Shirley (Gerry), Buddy (Cathy), Peter and Kismet (Troy), who gave them 9 grandchildren, Kevin (Gurdesh), Matthew (Kim), Steven, Jasmine (Evan), Jailum, Lukas, Sara Maya, Ava and Lucy. He retired from the BCFP Pulp Mill in Crofton in 1991. He collected his pensions, baseball caps and lottery tickets and had a relaxing and long retirement. He and Americk had quite the enterprise in their kitchen making fresh fruit pies and jams. The Bhandars want to thank Luther Court staff for the care and support they gave Pudge and Americk. He wanted a simple pine box and a no-photo obituary, but Americk said "I don't care, I never listened to him before." They were happily married 69 years.
On February 2nd, at 10 a.m., a funeral service will be conducted at First Memorial, 4725 Falaise Drive. Followed immediately by a prayer service and lunch (langar) at the Sikh Temple on Topaz Avenue. All welcome.
