He will be sadly missed, by his loving wife Erna of 61 years, daughters Sylvia and Brigitte (Curtis), grandchildren Aaron (Annalisa) and Alicia and great-grandson, Max. and many relatives.
Born in Cologne, Germany, the second youngest of eight children in a dairy farming family. After WWII, his family relocated to Willingshausen, Germany. In 1956 he immigrated to Victoria where he met and married his loving wife Erna. Together they built a life in Victoria, BC where Henry worked in various jobs, including construction and a shingle mill, before dedicating the rest of his career to the Sooke School Board. He was an enthusiastic traveller, walker, and camper, finding joy in spending time with family, gardening, word search puzzles, playing games, and watching hockey.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Henry's life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 1:30pm at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 3787 Cedar Hill Road, Victoria, BC.
