Our family was saddened by the passing of Helen. Her and Jimmy were my parents besties. We shared a lot of memories of their times together boating , fishing and being a regular visitor to my parents home. Ray and Joy DeProy. After the passing of Jimmy and Ray, Joy and Helen found a deep friendship while they both lived in the Victoria area. I would drive my mum{Joy} out to Sidney to visit Helen and share some laughs around past memories of their adventures together. After Mums passing my daughter Tracy and I would take Helen for lunch and share more stories and sometimes photos. She left a positive mark on our lives. Rest in Peace Helen! you had a good run!

Sincerely sending wishes of sympathy to your family as you all grieve the loss of your Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend.
As my sister’s and I went through our mother’s treasured items in the special wooden box she kept, to our delight was the beautiful gardening article your mother had written. Helen had seen our mother’s “whopper of a Hydrangea bush” so lovingly fed for 30 years by our father’s top secret grapefruit peelings compost mixture. This amazing bush with pink, red, blue and mauve all on the same shrub, had been a grocery store  purchase by our Grandmother for our mother. My mother felt like a celebrity when Helen took pen to paper and wrote about this scientific wonder. 
I think we can only imagine the joy “Over the garden fence” must have brought to so many who shared your mother’s love of the garden.
Our house is long gone, but my sister took a part of the bush to her beautiful heritage home. As it comes into bloom this spring we will cheers your mother and ours.
