Jane was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland on February 4, 1937 to David and Jessie Smith. At an early age Jane along with her family moved to Derby, England where she went on to meet and marry Geoffrey in 1959. In 1963 she had her son Philip before moving to Coventry, England and having her daughter Sally in 1965.
In 1974 after Geoff was offered a position at Bally Haly Golf and Country Club the family moved to St. John’s, Newfoundland. After “Tree” (3) years of Jane not understanding the language the family moved to Victoria, British Columbia.
In 2002 Geoff and Jean built and opened DeMamiel Creek golf course in Sooke, British Columbia and retired to Langford in 2016.
During her 85 years Jane enjoyed travelling to many countries, as well as cruising, reading and completing her jig saw puzzles.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 63 years Geoff, her son Philip (Barb) and daughter Sally, as well as her grandsons Alex and Cole.
Jane will be laid to rest at First Memorial, 4725 Falaise Drive but has requested no service. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Cancer Society would be appreciated.
