John was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his children; Jeremy, Marcus (Sandy, children Gregory and Jessica), and Anna, granddaughter Rebecca, sister Carol, sister-in-law Kay, extended family, and many friends.
Predeceased by his parents Roland and Ethel, and siblings Murray and Janet. John grew up in Saskatchewan, and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Commerce (Accounting). Following articling, he returned to the University of Saskatchewan and enjoyed a long and distinguished career as Director of Benefit Services. In 1998, John and Rosemary realized their dream and retired to the Oak Bay district of Victoria, BC where their love story continued. Known for spectacular garden in Victoria, John will be missed for his gentle kindness, charm, and sense of humour. It was John's wish that a formal funeral service not be held. The ALS Society of Canada will be most appreciative of donations in John's memory. The family thanks the many nurses, doctors, and volunteers who supported John and Rosemary throughout their journey.
