
John (Jack) Brown was born in Lethbridge, Alberta May 15, 1929.
He grew up in Lethbridge, graduating from Lethbridge Collegiate Institute (High School). Several years later he met the love of his life, Dorothy Eritsland, and they married August 29, 1953, a marriage that would last 67 years.
As a young man he was hired by Alberta Government Telephones, rising to the level of foreman in the Toll service. He worked for AGT for 35 years, initially in Lethbridge, then St. Paul, and finally Edmonton, Alberta.
Several years after retiring Jack and Dorothy moved to Victoria, B.C., where they enjoyed over 25 years together. Jack loved to garden and spent many hours lovingly tending his plants and chasing deer, raccoon and squirrels.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy, children Lori Jean Brown (Dan) and Linda Owen (Murray), grandchildren Kathleen (Dan), Jennifer (Matt), Garrett, and Erica, great grandchildren Jordyn and Zackary, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Colonel George S. Brown and Jean I. Brown, and his siblings George Brown and Margaret Nelson.
He was much loved by family and friends, and will be remembered for his gentle friendliness, great sense of humor, and deep, selfless care for his family.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date when his family can gather together.
