John Michael Carter

Michael was very smart, humorous and talented. He was a talented graphic designer, who designed a wide variety of things over many years. The quality of his work was high and anyone who saw what he produced would agree. He had a degree from Emily Carr and was an instructor there for several years. Michael also worked for the BC Royal Museum in Victoria, BC as a graphic designer for several years. He also has to his credit, work in the sign making industry as a valued and talented designer.

Michael was incredibly friendly and those who were part of his circle of friends would agree. He was fun to be around. He helped others out with bike repairs, household repairs and creating various graphics.

Michael was a passionate cyclist who owned several bikes and kept them in top condition. He rode in the "Ride to Conquer Cancer" one year, an accomplishment that was highly important to him.

Michael was a loving person who made you feel special, important and loved. He loved his family, his friends and his partner.

John Michael Carter, age 66, passed away on June 7, 2020 in Victoria, BC, from a heart attack. He was in good health and it was unexpected. He was admitted to hospital the night before he passed away and was released that same night around 11:15 PM, after he was given extra strength Tylenol and other meds. He was told that they found a problem with his right lung. He was born January 3, 1954 in Vancouver, BC. His parents are Flora and John Carter. Michael is preceded in death by his father, John Carter.

Michael is survived by his family, including his mother, Flora Carter, his sister, Catherine Carter, his brother, Richard Carter and his sister-in-law, Shelley Carter. He is also survived by his loving partner Jeannine, whom he met in 2016 at GT Hiring Solutions.

Michael will be missed by his partner, his family and his many friends, all of whom shared many happy moments with him and also many of his co-workers who were also friends.
