John William Macrae

John passed away on August 14, 2024 at Royal Jubilee Hospital. John was born in Arcola, SK, on April 24, 1938. He was predeceased by his parents, John Farquhar MacRae and Evelyn Todd MacRae. John was the youngest of 5 children, older brothers, Colin and twins Gale and Gary, and sister, Muriel.

John's early years were in SK and then the family moved to Vancouver when John was a young man. At one point, John lived in a double decker houseboat under the Second Narrows Bridge with his black lab "Mister". John met Diane while working at WCB and they married within a year and settled in Victoria where John started his environmental health consulting business. They were together for close to 50 years.

Both John and Diane loved dogs and so followed "Elka", "Tulla", "Froia", "Heidi" and now "Maja" -- all Norwegian elkhounds from Vigeland Kennels on the mainland.

John passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness, leaving his wife, Diane, and Maja. He will be missed so very much.
