Juana Gutierrez

This March 11th 2025, Juana Gutierrez took her final breath, surrounded by her loved ones at Victoria General Hospital. Tenderly treasured is the memory of a wife, special mother and devoted Grandma who entered into peaceful sleep.

Juana was predeceased by her devoted husband, Roberto Gutierrez of 61 years, leaving behind her four children, Robert, Ruth (Jorge), Norma (Chava), and Nancy (Garry), 8 grandchildren Scott, Quique, Bob, Jason, Leanne, Krystal, Garry, Nicole and 14 great-grandchildren Taylor, Emilio, Olivia, Janeina, Yesenia, Santiago, Carmelo, Brayden, Cash, Taya, Orianna, London, Isabella and Noah, who brought so much joy to her life. Also grieving her loss are her sisters, and extended family and friends. You gave us years of happiness, then came sorrow and tears. But you left us beautiful memories we will treasure through the years.

Juana & Roberto moved the family to Victoria, in 1965. It was a very tough transition, coming to a new country, with 4 young children to fulfill a lifelong dream. Roberto and Juana the fun loving, happy couple that everyone envied and admired. You never saw one without the other, and their feelings for each other were passionate and true. Juana was a fabulous dancer and many times, Juana and Roberto had the dance floor to themselves while others watched.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at (5B South) Victoria General Hospital for their phenomenal care of Juana, during her 5 month stay, the care aides, physio staff, nurses, doctors, were absolutely amazing. It was a long haul for mom, but the staff truly made it easier. Mom, was very funny and extremely polite, the staff loved her. She also played Cupid on 5 South, always trying to pair the staff together for Marriage. They became part of our family. We can’t put into words how grateful we are for all of you.

In lieu of flowers, donations to either the BC Cancer Foundation or Heart & Stroke Foundation (BC Yukon) would be appreciated.
