Judith was born January 2, 1948, in New Westminster, British Columbia. Her family moved to Edmonton, Alberta in the early 1950s. Judith returned to British Columbia in 1974.
While in Edmonton, Judith obtained a bachelor’s degree is psychology, which enhanced her life-long interest in, and love of, people.
Judith’s career included working in public television, radio, sales, volunteering and ultimately the public service in British Columbia.
She was a talented artist: a violinist in the Edmonton youth orchestra; a glass artist, both stained glass and kiln formed glass; and a silversmith. Judith’s creativity elevated her projects at the Royal British Columbia Museum where she turned the Gallery Rental program into an internationally recognized event centre.
But Judith’s greatest talent was building and nurturing relationships. She was always there with a hug, a smile, a kind word, or a word of encouragement for anyone. She was always available to listen to troubles big or small and gave sage counsel when asked.
Judith is survived by her sister Deborah McGinnis, her niece Shauna, nephew -in-law Chris and grand nephew Ray.
At Judith’s request there will be no funeral service or memorial. Instead, please donate to a charity of your choice.
