Today, at Kathy's Celebration of life our thoughts are with her children, Keith and Erika, Sisters Win and Susan and their families. Greg and I will really miss our good friend and neighbor Kathy and still find it hard to believe that she will not be there when we return home. We will treasure our memories of her warm smile and hugs. Our many walks out over Panama flats, riding our bikes to Royal Oak on Saturday mornings to Curves. Sitting around the pool in our backyard cooling off in the hot sun and getting together for appys and dinners over the years. She could always be counted on to keep an eye on our place when we were away, watering plants, feeding the birds etc. A really great neighbor. Love you Kathy

A very sad day today, but with her passing, her legacy will not be forgotten. Kathy was an extremely caring person, compassionate and most of all... a legendary mom. 
Kathy’ love didn’t stop at family, she passed her infectious personality and caring to her children’s friends, and thankfully I was lucky enough to be apart of that Shaw family circle. Kathy never hesitated to ask how I was doing, how the family is, and just chat in general. 

An incredible woman was lost to this world recently and she will be deeply missed by myself and anyone who got to spend a moment with her. My deepest condolences to Keith, Erika and the rest of the family.


If you ever want to shed a tear...or try and hold it in til I hug it out of you, I’m always here for you buddy. Tears of joy!

Thinking of you at this time. Our thoughts are with you Keith and Erika at this time and family. Keith your Mom will always be remembered for loving you ,supporting you and almost never missing a baseball game.Your Mom and Dad were great parents and did everything for you and Erika. Keith your parents will be missed ,but you have great memories that in time will heal the loss.  Remember Keith you are always welcome to come over and have a chit chat  miss you lots. I  have so many memories of happy days biking with Kat and "The Biker Chiks". Kat was always keen to venture wherever regardless of weather or routes! I also have recollections of our times in Nicaragua..just relaxing and enjoying the culture and the people of a lovely country. You will be missed dear friend..

So many amazing memories and life lessons. 
My mother was loving, caring, very intelligent and beautiful inside and out. 

She had this connection with the people who were close to her, it was almost as if she could sense when something was wrong. We often would come across the topic of telekinesis, the after life and re-incarnation. She believed that life did not end at death, so I hope wherever she is and whatever she has become makes her happy. 

I have a memory I would like to share, tough to pick just one but it relates to the paragraph above. 

I had recently started to work as a fishing guide on North Vancouver Island. It was a dream job for myself as I had a passion for fishing, passed down from my mother and father at a young age. 

After a month of guiding and learning the ropes of the Hospitality fishing industry I had one of the absolutely worst days of my adult working career. I was about to call it quits, pack my bags and head back home to start anew when the phone rang.... Guess who ?? 

After a lengthy conversation about who I was (the son of a great fisherman) and what I was capable of doing (just about anything in her eyes) we said I love and goodbye. 

That reassurance, at the impeccable moment was exactly what I needed to continue on that summer. I will never forget it.  Thanks Mom ❤️
