Lenonna E Simmonds

Simmonds, Lenonna "NONIE"(Eckert/Scott-Polson). 1936 - 2016. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who has been taken from us too soon. She passed peacefully in the early hours of August 24th at Royal Jubilee Hospital. She leaves behind her devoted and loving husband of 28 years, Dave, her two children Sandra "Sam" McCall (Gary) and Darlene Cockle (Dave) and three grandchildren Alysa (Jon), Gord (Heidi) and Kayla. Predeceased by parents Marvin and Josephine Eckert and brother Rick. Her passions in life included her family, cooking, baking and her gardens. Nonie was a spitfire who taught her family and many of the neighbourhood kids her love of baking, sewing and arts and crafts. She always had time for a cup and tea and a chat and her sense of humour and love of family and friends will leave her dearly missed. If you knew her, then you remember her house was a home of laughter and comfort to all who visited there was always time for tea and a baked good. Her kindness and large heart will be missed by all. No service by request, however donations may be made to the Cancer Society on her behalf.
