Lindsay was born a leap year baby on February 29, 1984, to Debbie and Ernest Miles in Trail, BC. At the age of 2, the family moved to Ernie’s hometown of Victoria, returning again to Trail when she was 8 years old. The family later moved to Calgary where she graduated with honours and continued to enjoy acting and performing with her family. She worked at the Sears Distribution Center where her dad was the Building Manager. It was in Calgary that her pursuit of higher education began at Mount Royal University. Once again the family returned to Victoria where she continued her educational journey.
Lindsay then attended Camosun College and the University of Victoria. She also worked as a Program Assistant at the B.C. Cancer Agency in Victoria. She earned a Bachelor Degree of Arts in Anthropology with a minor in Public Administration and also a second degree as a Bachelor of Arts in History and Visual Studies, graduating with honors.
While working on her degrees Lindsay also enjoyed working at Camosun College and did research for the University of Victoria where she was commended for her excellent work.
Lindsay came from a very talented musical family and had a beautiful voice. The Miles family entertained everyone with “An Old Fashioned Christmas Show” with performances in both Trail and Calgary. Some of the many events she performed at were jam sessions with friends and family, performances with her mother Debbie, the Calgary Stampede, a talent competition in Maple Ridge for the PNE and many various fundraisers in Victoria. Lindsay was a lovely artist as well as a prolific reader and writer. She had a great passion for making jewelry and sold it worldwide. She was a very loyal friend and fiercely protective of her loved ones.
Lindsay is survived by her mother; Debbie, Her wonderful brothers; Dustin and his wife Carina and their children Aria and Hunter, Jeffrey and his fiancé Lei and their son West. Lindsay adored her nephews and niece and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for her precious darlings. She is also survived by her Uncle Richard (Anita) Van Tassel, Aunt Gerry (Ernie) Brown, Aunt Connie Hanson, Aunt Marianna (Dave) Harris, Aunt Cheryl (Doug) Merritt, and all her cherished cousins as well as numerous friends. Lindsay was predeceased by her father Ernie, newborn sister Cora Lee, grandparents Norman and Dolores Van Tassel, John and May Miles, her Uncle Ron Hanson, and Aunt Gail Hutley.
Lindsay was so loved and we are going to miss her heart of gold, smile, laughter, quick wit, sense of humor, kindness, and her angelic voice which I am sure she is displaying proudly in heaven as she sings with her father and the angels.
With special consideration and knowing Lindsay's wish to keep everyone safe during these difficult times, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
