Survived by her children Nels and Betty-Ann (David), grand-daughter Chloe, as well as relatives across Canada and in Denmark. Along with her love of playing piano and singing, Tena also over the years tap-danced, practiced Tai Chi, acted in local plays, and always had season’s tickets to the Victoria Symphony. She loved Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Fats Waller and The Three Tenors. She had a great sense of humour, and loved to laugh. She loved her garden, her cats and dog, and travelled to many different countries (Denmark, China, Bali, and Isreal, to name a few). She gave to dozens of charities on a regular basis, and over the years supported several children over-seas through the Christian Children’s Fund. After having retired from The BC Ferries in 1992, where she worked for many years as an accounting clerk, she provided loving after-school care for her granddaughter Chloe throughout her elementary school years. She attended both the First Baptist Church (where as a girl she and her family lived when first arriving from Alberta) and later, The Unity Church.
