Lois R. Vavruska

On December 30 2021 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria BC with her daughter in law by her side, Lois Ruth Vavruska passed away peacefully and comfortably. Ruth is predeceased by her husband George Vavruska and late husband Douglas Corby, her step son in law Tony and his daughter Sarah Caroline.

Ruth is survived by her son Mark Corby and his wife Darcy, step daughter Diane Bromley and her daughter Kim, step daughter Georgia Hiller and her daughter Anna and son George. Ruth is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was born on October 26 1926 in Haliburton Ontario . She is predeceased by her father Jack Haight, mother Christine , brother, Mervin, brother Dell and sister Phyllis. She is survived by her brother John.

Ruth lived most of her life in Oshawa Ontario and moved to Victoria BC in 1995. She lived at Wedgwood Estates until her passing. She will always be remembered for her warm smile, compassionate heart and her ability to host a wonderful gathering of family and friends. She could light up a room with her beauty and grace. Ruth was truly a unique and elegant lady, she will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her.

Ruth’s family want to thank all her wonderful friends at Wedgewood Estates and everyone who helped and supported her so she could live in her home by the ocean, in the final years of her life. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated, there will be no service. Due to Covid restrictions there will be no celebration of life. Ruth’s ashes will be brought back to Ontario where she will be be laid to rest. Donations can be made to the Humane Society in Victoria BC. in memory of Ruth.
