Having visited seven continents and five oceans, she is off on her final journey. This time not with her daughters Elizabeth (James) and Heather, or granddaughter Rebecca-Anne (Alex) or great-granddaughter Emily. She also leaves behind many relatives and friends and a slew of adopted nephews and nieces of whom she was very fond.
Born in Paisley, Scotland, her first 25 years were spent between Rothesay, Bute and Rochester, Kent. She came to Tofino, BC to teach in 1955 and after her husband Kenneth died, she moved to Victoria BC in 1969.
Margaret loved her teaching profession and served her colleagues and students, past and present, in many ways. She kept herself busy serving on many committees for the GVTA and the BCTF. And after retirement was very busy with the RTA and her church.
Margaret believed in magic and Star Trek and watched it become real. She read a lot, watched too much television, loved movies, and enjoyed going to the theatre particularly with the Butterflies. In general, she loved people and life and she will be missed.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday June 17th at 1pm at the Parish of St. Peter and St Paul, 1379 Esquimalt Rd, Victoria.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Parish of St. Peter and St Paul Building Fund
