She was born to Arthur and Mary Inglis, who had emigrated from
Scotland and settled on James Island.
She was predeceased by her parents, her siblings, Gordon, Olive and Arthur and by
her nephews, Gordon and Stephen.
May is survived by Gordon and Stephen’s families, her nieces, Lynn (Lawrie) and Lisa (Rob), her nephew Mike (Catherine) and their families, her long time friend Marilyn and many friends and neighbours.
As a young woman, she figure skated with the Ice Cycles, followed by a successful career of over 40 years as a seamstress, first with Standard Furniture and then with Chintz & Company.
For 33 years May resided at Waters Edge Village in Saanichton, where she
enjoyed being part of a supportive and friendly community. Special thanks and
appreciation to her neighbours, Jim and Lyn.
May enjoyed many activities, including sailing, badminton, tennis, golf, curling, table
tennis, bridge and gardening (she was especially proud of her roses). She
was also an avid reader and an art collector.
She led an active life – may she now rest in peace.
