Michael Ralph Hoitz

Michael Hoitz, of Victoria, B.C., passed away on November 14, 2025. Born September 2, 1959 in Victoria, B.C., the first born to Ralf and Irmgard Hoitz. Predeceased by his father Ralf Hoitz, he is survived by his mother Irmgard, sister Sandra (Barry), his wife Jacquie, children Krystina (Tyler), Jonathan, Paige (Matthew), Nephews Reid (Nicole) & Laine (Chelsey), granddaughter Payton, grandnephew Bowen. Mike worked in the construction industry his entire life, starting in his teens working with his father, eventually starting his own very successful construction company, Karepro Homes. He built many homes in Victoria, Arbutus Ridge and Bear Mountain. Mike loved to watch sports of any kind. He played baseball and soccer into his late 30’s, and golf was always a passion which he played right to the end with his favourite group of 4. He also loved to travel taking many tropical trips in the winter. Mike loved his family dearly. He was in his happy place when family came to visit. He loved nothing more than having a summer BBQ with family and friends serving up “Opa” ribs, having late night fires with a shot of tequila and multiple chocolates. His larger than-life presence, big smile, and loud, joyful laugh could fill a room and make even the hardest days feel lighter. We miss him so much and will love him forever. He will be forever in our hearts and we will cherish the memories.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, 12 pm – 3 pm, Royal Canadian Legion, Langford, 761 Station Ave, Langford, B.C.
