Worley, Michael Kenneth

January 28, 1952 - Edmonton, Alberta -April 9, 2021, Courtenay, BC Michael (Mike) Kenneth Worley, 69, passed away on April 9, 2021. He was born in Edmonton, Alberta on January 28, 1952. He was predeceased by his mother, Stella Worley and his father, Kenneth Worley.. He is survived by his Aunt Natalie Jerwak, his sister Dianne and brother-in-law Don Martin. He attended NAIT in the Dental Mechanics Program. When he was in his early 20s, he headed west and worked as a commercial fisherman, eventually owning his own boat. He lived in North Vancouver, and moved to Comox, then Courtenay.

Mike was passionate about golf and skiing, and was good at both pursuits. Living in the Comox valley gave him the opportunity to do both on the same day. He was also a good cook and storyteller. He had many friends, keeping in touch with old friends from Edmonton, plus he made many more friends on Vancouver Island. He had a great sense of humour, was generous, easy going and was a lot of fun to be around. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kitty Cat Pals in Courtenay, or any other humane society in Mike’s name would be appreciated.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to First Memorial Funeral Services 4725 Falaise Drive Victoria, BC V8Y 1B4 250-658-5244.

So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. I met him through my dad, Jack Jackson, as we golfed at Glacier Greens, then Comox Golf Club. Mike was always sweet and caring, full of laughter and anecdotes about fishing, skiing or golf.
He was also extremely gracious, when I, an interloper female, joined the Early Birds at Glacier Greens.
May he Rest In Peace.
Kind regards,
Lori Jackson
