born July 24, 1921, passed away on March 6, 2021, loving wife of Wilfred Welldon(deceased), mother of Margaret (Tarnowsky), Christine Ann, and Miriam Claire, loving grandmother of Cassia and Hanani, and great grandmother of Kaia Welldon-Smith.
Miriam was a lovely English rose who survived the Blitz to live ninety-nine years, a life she lived fully, emigrating with family to Canada where she beautified her environment with gardening, embroidery, crafts, and painting, and always active with cycling, lawn bowling, camping, travelling, reading, walking, and Tai Chi. We will miss her wit, elegance, and intellect, and the way she laughed so easily—able to find the funny side even within the bleakness of old age. Rest in peace, Miriam.
The family thanks the nurses and staff at Sunset Lodge, Victoria, for their good care.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Internment at Royal Oak Burial Grounds, Victoria.
