

DERBYSHIRE, Murray Robert passed way suddenly in Victoria on February 25, 2017 at the age of 69. He will be greatly missed by his wife and best friend Sylvia. Lovingly remembered by his daughters, Rosalind, Frances (Charlie); sons Douglas(Michelle),Sydney (April); nine grandchildren; father, Ellwood; brother Allen; sisters, Lynn(David), Mary(Graham), Donna; brother-in-law Gary; adopted daughters Amanda and Cindy. Predeceased by his mother, Shirley; sister, Beth; niece, Rebecca.
Murray leaves behind numerous brothers-and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; a large circle of extended family and friends.
Murray was raised in a military family. After graduating high school in Ontario he followed the rest of the family to Victoria. Murray's love of hockey and lifetime of driving truck exposed him to a vast variety of people and places.
After retirement Murray and Sylvia's motto became: have wheels, will travel. In his last weeks he was able to fulfill his wish to have a family vacation in Florida, leaving all with wonderful memories of his last days.
A Celebration of Murray's Life will be held on: Friday, March 3, 2017, 1:30 pm. First Metropolitan United Church, Balmoral and Quadra.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation
