Pat was born in Nottingham, England in the summer of 1937. She was the first child of Doris and Edward Bullivant and was later joined by her sister, Carol. Pat and Carol were very close, often referring to each other as ‘Rosie’ such that they became known as the Two Roses.
Pat met her beloved husband, Bob, in 1955 when he was in Nottingham with the RCAF fixing a plane. That chance encounter resulted in 67 years of marriage. Bob often described the day he met Pat as the luckiest day of his life. Upon returning to Canada, Pat, Bob and family moved with Bob’s work until they ended up on Vancouver Island in 1976. Pat worked at Sears Canada for many years where she met several women who became lifelong friends.
Pat was a devoted and supportive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother! She was always generous of spirit and time with friends, family and even strangers! It was not unusual for Pat to invite people, whom she had met at Sears and who were alone, over for Sunday dinner with her family. Her love, cheerful warmth and unwavering support are gifts her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild will benefit from for years to come. For them her loss is irreplaceable.
Pat was predeceased by her husband Bob, mother Doris, father Edward, sister Carol, and grandson Josh.
Pat is survived by her children Carol (Bernard), Dean and Lisa, grandchildren Chase, Brianne, Shaleah (Brenndon), and Felipe, great granddaughter Cyenna.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
