It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Randy Powley, who left us peacefully at home on February 13, 2024, at the age of 72.
Randy was more than a father, a partner, a grandfather, and a friend—he was a man whose kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back, the last dollar in his pocket, and his time and effort to help others, no matter who they were. His heart knew no boundaries when it came to kindness, and his spirit shone in the way he treated others—with warmth, respect, and a deep, genuine care.
Nearly 30 years ago, Randy moved to Victoria, BC, where he met Marge, the love of his life. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family. He was a devoted father figure to Tyson (17), Charlie (15), and Wayne, lovingly known as Jay Jay (3). He guided them with wisdom, protected them with strength, and loved them unconditionally.
Randy was also a loving and caring grandfather to Leilani (15), Tyler (33), and Keoni, who sadly passed away in 2021 at the age of 17. His love for his grandchildren was immeasurable, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Born and raised in Ontario, Randy spent years working as an autobody technician before transitioning into a career as a train conductor and engineer. When he arrived in Victoria, he followed his passion for craftsmanship, establishing a successful career in restoration and renovations. He poured his heart into his work with the same dedication and integrity that defined every aspect of his life.
His hands built homes, but more importantly, they built relationships. His heart restored more than just houses—it restored faith in humanity.
Randy was a man who believed in hard work, loyalty, and love. He was not just a presence in our lives—he was a force of goodness, a reminder of what it means to be selfless and kind. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, in the kindness he shared, and in the love he gave so freely.
As we remember Randy, let us not only mourn his passing but also celebrate the incredible life he lived. Let us carry forward his spirit of generosity, his warmth, and his unwavering love for others.
Rest in peace, Randy. You were loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
