Raymond "Ray" Perkins passed away peacefully in Victoria, at Mount St. Mary Hospital on December 31, 2020 at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife Frances, his sons Charles “Tony”, Brent, Loren (Margaret), Greg; his grandchildren Garrett (Keshia) and Brianne (Piotr) as well as his great-grandchildren Ryan, Olivia, Tyler, Cora and Carter. Raymond was predeceased by brothers Edgerton and John “Jack”.
Raymond was born in Moosejaw Saskatchewan. He loved to drive and made a career driving for the Canadian Armed Forces and after retirement, as a civilian driver. Thanks Dad and Grandfather for teaching us all to drive. A few of his passions were racing his Morris Minor (The Pumpkin), skiing and Country Highland Dancing. Ray also loved music; in his younger years he played the clarinet and cornet with the armed forces in Edmonton. His later years were filled with many concerts and weekly bluegrass shows at the local café. However, the dance recitals of his grandkids were always some of his favourite shows to attend.
Grandfather will be greatly missed by all of us. We want to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Mount St. Mary’s Harmony House.
