Devoted wife of 70 years to Tom; loving mother to Val (Dennis), Michael (Kathy), Doreen (Brian) and Vicki; cherished grandmother to Sheila (Jim), Justin (Dahee), and Michael, and great-grandmother to Mason and Shiloh. A kind and thoughtful daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend.
Rita graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing (Victoria, BC). An avid gardener, knitter, baker, and volunteer, she enjoyed spending summers at the family cabin in Kamloops. Rita was an exceptionally caring and generous person, always willing to help family and friends in countless ways.
Special thanks to Dr. Frank Egan and his wife Lynn for their compassionate care over the years, as well as to the health care professionals in the Neurosciences Unit at VGH during Rita’s final weeks.
