JOHN, Robert Greenwood Of Victoria BC Passed away on October 20, 2009 at the age of 70. Robert (The Duke as he was fondly known as) had a career spanning 30 years with the Victoria Fire Department, Retiring as a Captain. Since retiring in December 1996 he spent his time at home, visiting family and friends, traveling with his wife Betty. Robert was predeceased by his father Kenneth, Mother Edith, and Brother Dave, and a son Aaron Matthew. He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth (Betty) Babcock-John, Son Allan, Daughters, Angela and Amanda John, Nicole Smith (Pierre) and Sherry Babcock, His sister Catherine Gossen (Dave) and her children Kenneth and Miranda. Sister in Law Betsy John and nephew Jeremy and his wife and nieces Hailey and Colinda. Grandchildren Meaghan, Kaitlin, Jacob, Samara, Katherine and Skyla. Also his former wife Paula C. M. John and many family and friends. Special thanks to the many hospital staff of Vancouver's St. Paul's and Vancouver General Hospitals and Victoria General Hospital. A Memorial Service of Bob's life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Dr. (Saanich V8Y 1B4) on Tuesday October 27, 2009 at 2 PM: reception to follow.
