Bobby was a drummer, paddler, music lover, philosopher, deep sea diver, marine engineer, boat owner, fixer of broken things, patient husband, patient father, patient grandfather. He was lovely.
The broken hearted include his wife Susan, his daughters Midori (Jason) and Maja (Brian), his joys Anika, Dean and Camille. His brother Mike (Sandy) and his much missed brother David. He had a truly wonderful group of nieces and nephews and their families who brightened so many get togethers. All of his extended family in Ontario miss him terribly too.
Bobby said he could live anywhere but he especially loved his Willis Point, Hornby Island, Alert Bay, and Maui friends and neighbours. He always made neighbours into friends.
The family has chosen a private memorial. It will involve a martini toast (straight up no olives), and hopefully a lot of laughter "Ryan Style."
Bobby would be pleased with donations to the R.C. Marine Search and Rescue as he loved the sea and it just might save a life.
