

Sheldon David Nip died with strength, calmness, and dignity on Sunday, October 1st, 2023 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, after a lengthy illness. Predeceased by his wife Sandra Bo Chun Nip (nee Lee) in 2016. He was the eldest son of Soon Chong Nip and Laura Nip.
Sheldon was born in Victoria, BC on May 18th, 1931. He spent his younger years in Port Alice, BC, and graduated from Victoria High School in 1950. Sheldon worked for decades as a shop foreman at Kenametal Inc., for the Victoria and Langford plants. Sheldon is an avid and competitive bowler. He had won a number of provincial bowling competitions and achieved a perfect 300 points game. In his retirement, Sheldon loved and exceled in ballroom dancing and participated in many communities dancing events.
Sheldon will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his brothers Chark, and Richard, and sisters Helen, Verna, Eva (Lawrence), Connie, and many nieces, nephews, and step-sons Kenny (Kathleen), Samuel (Diana), and Tony (Donna), and step-grandsons Kinman (Tiffany, step-great granddaughter London), Nathan, Darren (Stephanie), Baron (Mabel), and step-granddaughter Christina (Tyler). Predeceased by sisters Sarah, Barbara, and Jean.
Funeral Service will be held 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 12th, 2023 at the First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falasise Street, Victoria, BC V8Y 1B4. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
