Silvio is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Josephine and is survived by his children Silvio (Joanne), Jan-Marie, Deanna (Lawrence), David (Nancy); grandchildren Diandra, Talina, Delicia, Olivia, Isabella, Alexis, Max, and great-grandson Henri.
Silvio was born in Nanaimo, BC, shortly after his parents Louis and Rosa, with his older siblings Renzo and Jean, immigrated from Italy. He worked for a brief time at CP Rail after graduating high school, subsequently working for the BC Government's Department of Highways, where he held an administrative position supporting and planning highway construction projects across BC.
While supporting one of these projects in Fernie BC, Silvio met Josephine and together they moved several times within BC's Kootenay region before settling in Victoria, BC, to raise their four children.
Silvio loved his family and friends, good food and wine, gardening and reading. He enjoyed camping with his family, weekend trips to Bellingham, and his trips to Italy. Silvio was very proud to be part of the Knights of Columbus (achieving third and fourth degree) and continuously served the community through his volunteer work, particularly to serve those in need.
He had an enduring drive to support others and help whenever and wherever he could.
Silvio's favourite thing to do on a perfect summer's eve was sit on his garden patio, a choice cocktail in hand, nibbling on tasty snacks while in the company of family and friends.
The family would like to express gratitude for the care Silvio received from Selkirk Seniors Village.
A service in Silvio's memory will be held at St. Patrick's Church, 2060 Haultain St. Victoria BC, on Tuesday September 10th at 11:00 AM.
