He moved to Scotland at the age of four and was educated at Biggar High School,where he excelled at sports,especially rugby. He then joined the Scottish Meat Hygiene Service . After attending Cardiff University ,obtaining an Honours Degree in Meat Hygiene,he had several postings in England .He then moved back to Scotland to head up the Scottish Meat Hygiene Service and he also obtained an MBA from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. He was highly regarded in his profession where he handled large national incidents such as Foot and Mouth disease.
He always had a hankering to travel to Canada,where his father was born and emigrated here six years ago. Spencer worked for the Ministry of Health as
a Senior Food Safety Specialist and recently on the pandemic crisis. He made a new life here with a wide circle of friends who all enjoyed his brilliant sense of humour and his impish smile.
He will be dearly missed by his brother Kevin, his nieces Nikki,Sarah and
Rachel ,his friends in Victoria, especially at the Lure and the Sticky Wicket and his co-workers at the Ministry of Health.
