Susan Margaret Remmer, born on October 24, 1947, passed away on February 1, 2021. Susan was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother and was the glue that bonded her family together. Sue was the dearly loved daughter of Margot Ross-Nutt and John Ross-Nutt and the much loved sister of Andrew, Deborah, James and Amanda. Sue will be forever remembered and missed by her beloved husband Chris, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage, her loving daughter Katherine, her grandchildren, her extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as by her many dear friends.
Sue, the eldest of five, was always providing for and coming to the aid of her siblings. Her generous and loving personality and attentive listening skills always made her the one whom family members would turn to with a problem. Sue’s unvarying devotion to family, both immediate and extended, enabled her to keep close contact with family and friends from both home and her birth country, England. Sue dedicated much of her time researching the family tree and keeping a collection of wonderful photographs and letters, which we all treasure. One of Sue’s greatest passions was her beloved daughter Katherine. Susan's lovely charm and bubbly personality always made her the center of a gathering, especially when there were children around. Susan immediately embraced the role of adoring grandmother to Katherine’s adopted children, and they will cherish the memories they had with her.
Susan faced cancer with courage, strength and grace. While it eventually took away her health, it never deprived her of her brave spirit or dignity. There will be a celebration of life memorial service after COVID-19 gathering restrictions are lifted. Interested participants can email [email protected] for more details. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sending memorial contributions to Victoria Hospice Society or the BC Cancer Centre at Royal Jubilee Hospital. Donations of any amount will be gratefully appreciated.
