Lyn was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, John (Jack) Herbert Williams in August 2003. She is survived by her 3 children – Rick (Patti), Ken (Betty) and Janet (Scott), along with 6 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren, who brought her so much joy.
Lyn grew up in Ponoka, and then attended the University of Alberta, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics and Mathematics in 1947. She then moved to Victoria and shortly thereafter met the love of her life on a blind date, Jack. They married just eight months after meeting and enjoyed a life of love, devotion, friendships and lots of fun.
Lyn was known for her zest for life, her love for people, and her unwavering positive outlook. Her glass was always half full, and she lived each day with joy and gratitude. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Special thanks to Dr. Ben How, the palliative care team at Island Health and Mom’s three wonderful caregivers, all of whom enabled her to spend her final days in the home where she had lived for over 60 years!
A celebration of her well-lived life will be held at The Victoria Golf Club on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2 pm at 1110 Beach Drive Road, Victoria, B.C. If desired, memorial donations may be made directly to the Parkinson Society British Columbia at https://parkinson.bc.ca, Victoria Women’s Transition House Society at https://www.transitionhouse.net or a charity of your choice, if desired.
Always loved, always treasured.
Rick, Ken, Janet
