Irene and family
I was saddened to learn of my friend Theresia's passing and I’m sorry I could not be there for her service.
Theresia was a joy to know and to be able to call her my friend since 2010 when I joined the Y.   
She always shared her love of books and always passed them on for Ann, Wendy and me.   I will read Atlas the last of the Seven Sisters series in her honour .
How fortunate you are to have called her mother.
May your memories that you hold close to your heart bring you comfort.

You were the epitome of elegance even when exercising at the Y.  I remember with fondness the lunches you invited me to and knew I would never be able to emulate your cooking skills and presentation.  
You were a dear friend who will be sadly missed.

I met Theresia at the Y senior strength class several years ago and what an impression she made on me.  She was always elegant, even in her exercise clothes and much more energetic than I.  

Theresia was so independent to the extent that when she broke her hip in the Y gymnasium she insisted that all she needed was to get home and to take an aspirin.  She eventually agreed to be taken to the hospital however no ambulance was to be called and she would only go if she was driven in her own car.

Her Y friends were invited to her home for lunch several times, the table beautifully set, the meal delicious, the decor of her home so tasteful and the conversation very interesting.

Theresia loved to read and kept her friends supplied with books which she seemed to devour.

She spoke often of her late husband and of her daughter Irene who she adored.  Her family meant so much to her.

I will remember Theresia fondly and told her she was my inspiration.

We are sad to hear of the passing of your amazing mom/Oma.  She was exactly as you’ve described her.  A truly beautiful, strong, independent, intelligent and compassionate woman.  We wish these human gems could stay with us forever, and luckily, in so many ways, they do!  Our heartfelt condolences to each of you.  Love, Daphne, Brian, Leith and Eric Williams



My memories of Mrs. Boese,

We first met when Irene and I were at Oak Bay High School.
Irene then re-introduced me again to 'Mom' when at her husband, John's birthday party.  That was at least 50 years later and I couldn't believe how the passing years had hardly touched the face of Mrs. Boese.  In front of me was an elegant, smart and extremely attractive lady.    Irene and I spoke often of our 'cherished' Moms and how fortunate we were to have loving Mothers.  

I send my deepest sympathy to Irene and her Family and know she will cherish her fun, silly, girlish times that she shared with her Mom for the rest of her Life.
