Born on a farm in Sonkajärvi, Finland, our beloved äiti immigrated to Port Arthur, Ontario in the 1950s where she met her husband Matti and raised two daughters, Anita and Anneli. Her family moved west to Victoria in 1969. Predeceased by her husband Matti in 2003 and her son-in-law Alan in 2006, she is fondly remembered by Anita of Victoria and Anneli (David) of Nanaimo, her grandchildren Jordan (Jackie), Lisa, Rachel and Drew and her great-grandchildren Jonas and Juneau. Her brother Heikki, nieces Tuula and Marja and other relatives in Finland also survive her. Tyyne’s greatest joy was her grandchildren. Our dear Mummu will be lovingly missed by us all.
Heartfelt thanks to the dialysis clinic staff and to the nurses at hospice. At Tyyne’s request, there will be no formal service.
