Wilma Jean Laban

Jean was born the third daughter to Bill and Irene Smith on August 31, 1926 and raised in Victoria B.C., a place she called home throughout much of her life. She met her husband, Charlie at a dance held at the Crystal Gardens in 1946, a moment that marked the beginning of a lifelong partnership. They married the following year and shared many happy decades together.

Aside from a brief stay in Usk B.C., Jean and Charlie spent the a few years in Cobble Hill and the remaining years in the Greater Victoria area.

Jean is lovingly remembered by her children, Larry (Jennifer) and Leslee (Linda) as well as her four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her fabulous apple pies.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Charlie and sisters Phyllis and Audrey.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 27 at 11:00AM at Royal Oak Burial Park, located at 4673 Falaise Dr, Victoria, BC, V8Z 7J1, Canada. A reception will follow at First Memorial Funeral Service 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC.
