Mrs. Adeline Hill Barefield

On Monday, April 27, 2026, the gates of heaven opened to receive Mrs. Adeline Hill Barefield into eternal rest. Mrs. Barefield was born August 20, 1938, in Victoria, Texas to the late Evelyn Ray and Ireland Hill. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert M. Barefield.

Mrs. Barefield, proprietor of Barefield Funeral Home, was widely recognized as a businesswoman. Adeline was a compassionate pillar in her community. With grace and dignity, she provided comfort, guidance, and reassurance to countless families in their times of bereavement. Her life’s work reflected a deep commitment to service and an unwavering dedication to the care of others.

She leaves to cherish her memory with her devoted daughters: Janice McMurray (Fleming), Rhonda Davis (Charles), and Evelyn White (Jafus); her cherished grandchildren: Gi’Zelle Davis, Shyra McMurray, Christopher McMurray, and Jafus White II; her beloved great-grandchildren: Jaycee and Jackson White and her sister, Denise Hill James.

A Homegoing Celebration is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, located at 608 E. Convent Street, Victoria, Texas. Viewing will be prior to the service from 9:30-10:45 a.m.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Rosewood Funeral Home, Victoria, Texas.
