Alberta White King

Alberta King, 98, of Victoria passed away December 1, 2011. She was born July 16, 1913, in Victoria to the late Monroe and Virgie Brown White. She retired as as a personal staff member for Abigail Van Buren, and was a member of the St. Peter’s Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Faye Williams of Victoria, Carolyn Arkadie and husband, Abbie, of Victoria, and Valoria Edwards of Houston; her grandchildren, James Williams, Jr., Sherry Stokes and Dellia Edwards; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis King, a sister, Estelle King, and a brother, Jack White.

There will be a public viewing on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, from 6 to 8 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at 1 PM from the St. Peter’s Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Van Hook officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
