Aline Elizabeth O'Connell Ward, 67, of Victoria, went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2019. She was born in Victoria, TX on May 2, 1951 to Bernard and Dolores (Streckfus) O'Connell. She graduated in 1969 from Victoria High School and attended Texas A & I College for 2 years after graduation from Victoria College. She worked for Sears for many years in the service department, and then transferred to the retail side. She also worked for a few short years as a substitute teacher. Aline truly lived life to the fullest through small, simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, reading, and loving her 2 grandsons beyond measure. She loved to laugh and joke around. She had an uncanny ability to make a stranger feel as if they'd known her for years, and the people who were fortunate enough to know her were her friends for life. She was patient, funny, friendly, and kind.
She is survived by her loving husband, Don Ward; her daughter, Kathleen (Ward) Berlanga; a brother, James O'Connell, of Yorktown; 2 grandsons, Isaak Hall and Cedric Berlanga; and one great grandson, Jayden Hall.
Family, friends, and others whose life Aline touched are invited to Rosewood Funeral Chapel, 3304 Mockingbird Ln. in Victoria, TX on Wednesday January 23rd to reminisce, grieve, support each other, and of course just to chat from 5-7 PM for a visitation, and a short memorial service will follow.
