Andrew Jessel Lack November 26, 1973 – July 16, 2026 Andrew Jessel Lack was born on November 26, 1973 in Victoria, Texas to Jay and Barbara Lack, older brothers Josh and Jared, with sister Lara to join a few years later. Andy, as friends and family knew him, graduated from Victoria High School in 1992 after being on the varsity football team and Senior class president. He went to Texas Christian University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. While in college, he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and TCU Lariats. From TCU, Andy headed down to St. Mary’s School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor in 1999. He was also a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. Andy used this knowledge from his degrees to develop a career as an entrepreneur: founding and investing in companies, bringing investors together, and developing real estate. Andy was 52 years young, and never in a hurry to grow old —he left this world the way he lived it: bigger than life, with a story still in the middle of being told. He was an adventurer to his bones. Andy hunted and fished his way around the world, chasing the next horizon with the same restless enthusiasm he'd had since he was a little boy who dreamed of being a bull rider. Give him a gun to talk about, a fishing hole to argue over, or a boat to take an adventure on, and he'd happily talk your ear off for hours — because Andy never just told a story, he performed it, and he was good enough that you didn't mind hearing it twice. He was the life of the party and, depending on who you ask, occasionally the reason the party needed to end. He believed himself bulletproof and, when it suited him, invisible … and you better believe he had the nine lives and the stories to back it up. Around Port O'Connor, folks half-jokingly called him the Mayor, because he genuinely never met a stranger. It became something of a family legend: wherever his people traveled, if they said they were from Texas and mentioned their last name, someone would ask, "any kin to Andy?" Even his own father used to laugh about it. That was Andy's real gift — he made an impression, and he made lasting friends, everywhere he went. Underneath the bravado was a heart of gold. Andy was kind. He had big ideas and bigger dreams, and he was the kind of friend who showed up, always. As a brother, he was fiercely protective — the kind who'd have your back before you even knew you needed him to. As Uncle Andy, he was beloved by his nieces and nephews, and by the kids of every friend he ever had, because he had a way of making everyone feel like they mattered to him, and they did.
He was one of a kind, and he leaves behind a hole twice his size — in his family, among his countless friends, and across every boat, ranch, and duck blind he ever loved to fish or hunt. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Jessel Lack, brothers Josh Lack (Jill) and Jared Lack (Carolyn) and sister Lara Lack, nephews Sam and Benjamin, nieces Sarah and Dylan. He was preceded in death by his father, Jay Lack and grandparents Joe & Dorothy Jessel, Dave and Rebecca Lack, Rosalie Lack and Ruth Lack. Andy was cherished by more friends than could ever be named, and more of them were considered as much as his family as those listed here. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider CCA ( ccatexas.org ), P ort O’Connor Volunteer Fire Department (PO Box 732, Port O'Connor, TX 77982) , or simply that you go tell a big story, take someone fishing, or hug your family a little tighter — Andy would like that best.
