Annie Custer Lester

Annie Marie (Custer) Lester, age 74, of Houston, and formerly of Victoria, passed away Friday, March 26, 2010. She was born September 18, 1935 in Tivoli, Texas to the late Ray and Laura Mae Duncan Custer. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Houston.

Annie worked for the City of Victoria for over 15 years, and served as the City Secretary during the 1960's. She and her family moved to Houston, and she worked for Christopher DiStefano and Associates Inc. for 31 years, retiring in 2003.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberley A. Manley and husband Wayne of Pennington, Alabama; sons, Craig L. Lester and wife Beverly of Victoria, and Keith A. Lester and wife Donna of Montgomery; brothers, Darrell Custer of Victoria, and Joe Ray Custer and wife Janet of Green Lake; seven grandchildren, Andrea Allen, Brian Walters, Doug Larkin, Amy Storey, Christopher Lester, Matthew Lester, and Nathan Lester; and nine great grandchildren, Conner, Brandon, Sierra, Lana, Seth, Zachary, Caitlyn, Collin, and Taft.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Rocky Ryan Custer.

Visitation will be held 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, March 29, 2010 at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside Services will follow at 11:30 am at the Tivoli Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Lester, Matthew Lester, Nathan Lester, Doug Larkin, Brian Walters, and Conner Graham.
