Anthony Lee Kouches, 70, of Victoria passed away August 11, 2023 after a short and difficult battle with a rare aggressive cancer. Tony was born December 9, 1952 in Corpus Christi, TX to Tom and Lola Kouches. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp in 1973. He spent his career of more than 50 years in the oil and gas industry where his knowledge and experience was vast. Tony who was affectionately known as Honey, Dad and Popo was a man full of honor, integrity, discipline and loyalty. He was a man who completely dedicated every day of his life to his wife and family. Tony was an avid sports fan and loved his weekend golf games with his long time friends. He will be remembered by some as being stoic but for his adoring family he will be remembered as an amazing husband, dad and popo. He will reside in our hearts forever.
Tony is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Debra (Darst); daughter Lisa Kouches Hunt and husband Tony of Victoria; son, Thomas Jason (TJ) Kouches and wife Danielle of San Antonio; daughter, Brandi Kouches Bassano and husband Tim of Victoria; grandchildren, Dylan, Lola, Ava, Lilly, Layla, Brooklyne, Logan, Zoe; Great grandchildren, Maverick and Lainey; His sister Phala Bearden and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Nicholas Kouches.
A celebration of Tony’s life will be held on August 19, 2023 at 2PM at Colonial Funeral Home with Pastor Chip Reynolds presiding. Tony will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Marine Corp League.
Pallbearers are Dylan Kouches, Tony Hunt, Tim Bassano, Clayton Carter Sr, Mathew Bernhard and Philip Bernhard.
Honorary Pallbearers are Lester Green, Larry Pullin, David Jenkins, David Garcia and Tracy Rush.
